The PTA raises money for our school by organising various events for pupils and their families to enjoy throughout the year. It is run by a small group of volunteer parents/carers and raises approximately £4,000 a year, which is used to purchase equipment and optional extras for the benefit of the school and its pupils. For example, the outdoor classroom, iPads, new books and magazine subscriptions, the Outdoor Performance Stage and workshops run by visiting theatre groups.
The PTA is a very friendly group which always appreciate new members getting involved, helping organise and run events. Joining the PTA is also a great way to get to know other parents and carers across the different year groups.
In addition to the formal meetings each term, the PTA uses WhatsApp to communicate in-between meetings, so this is a good way for families to get involved with event-planning and sharing new ideas. Any help, no matter how small, is always greatly appreciated.
The PTA is pleased to have welcomed many new members over the last few years, including volunteers who are originally from Russia, Hong Kong, India and South Africa, and the PTA has appreciated their new perspectives and exciting fund-raising ideas!
