The children have had another wonderful week in the Acorn Class. They are really getting to know the rules and routines. This week our theme has been ‘all about me.’  We have painted some amazing portraits to represent ourselves. Using mirrors to observe our features, we carefully choose colours to match our skin, hair, and eyes, and experimented with shapes to represent our faces. The children truly became little artists as they painted self-portraits.

PE

The children were full of excitement as they took part in their very first PE session. They listened carefully to the “good looking” and “good listening” instructions, showing great focus and enthusiasm. We began by singing familiar songs like Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, learning the actions and moving our bodies with confidence and joy. The highlight of the session was playing with the parachute. Learning to shake it gently and stop still to the song Jelly on a Plate, then speeding up as we sang faster. The children took turns crawling underneath the parachute while their class friends lifted it high above their heads. It was a wonderful introduction to physical activity, teamwork, and fun!
