Welcome to Year 5
with Miss Harding
We hope that you have a wonderful summer. Please see the links below for some fun ideas for the children to enjoy.
During the summer, here is a fun activity you can do. Write a postcard to your new teacher/s in September telling them about something you have been doing over the six weeks holiday. Bring it back with you on your first day. They will love to hear about what you have been getting up to!
If you are interested in more support with Mathematics at home please follow the link below. White Rose Maths is excited to have produced a range of work booklets for parents and children to use over the summer or as support during next year.
PLEASE SEE THE LINKS BELOW FOR MORE IDEAS FOR LEARNING FROM HOME:

AUTUMN TERM 2020 OVERVIEWS:
IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER:
- Forest school is on a Monday. Please make sure you check the hand out sheet and the list in the classroom to find out when it is your week.
- P.E will be taking place on a Monday and Tuesday. Please make sure you have your P.E kit in school every day.
- Our Library changing day is Wednesday. Don’t forget to put your books in the box so that you can get new books out each week.
- Spellings will be tested on a Thursday.
THUNKS OF THE TERM:
You will receive a new reading book three times a week. These days may change each week. Remember, if you finish your book you can read it again or continue reading a library book at home. If you have finished the reading scheme, please read library books and keep Miss Harding regularly updated with what you are reading.
Spellings will be tested on a Thursday morning and will be tested in the form of a dictation. This means new words will be put into full sentences to ensure children have an understanding of their meaning.
Homework will be set on a half termly basis.
If you need additional Maths sheets that are not included on this list, please see Miss Harding.
