In Design and Technology this half term Year 5 have been designing and making stuffed toys. First, we generated several ideas against a success criteria. Our toys needed to be simple, well-made and have an animal theme.

Secondly, we created a template out of cardboard. Next we used fabric scissors to cut out our material. This part was challenging! We sewed our main parts together and then turned the material inside out to hide our stitching.

Once we had turned our toy inside out we filled it with stuffing to make them nice and cuddly! Then we followed our designs and added on the finishing touches. Some of us made a few changes during the making stages but overall we kept to our original designs.

We are happy with our finished products and Miss Allen thinks that they are amazing!

Thank you to Mrs Eccleston and Mrs Stokes who supported us during our sewing afternoon.
