In our PE lessons last week we have been developing our gymnastics skills. Firstly, we looked at different types of symmetrical and asymmetrical balances we could make individually. We tried to perform these balances with care and control.

Then we moved on to working in collaboration with a partner. When we work with a partner it is important that we work safely, collaborate well and support each other.

We practised and performed different types of balances. In the balance above, our bodies should be mirror images of each other. We are holding each other by the wrist for improved stability.

We trust our partners to help us balance safely and securely. The children above are demonstrating excellent collaboration skills. When we enter a balance, both partners must have a clear understanding of their role in a balance.

We completed partner balances from ‘Challenge Level 1’. Next lesson we will aim to complete the ‘Challenge Level 2’ balances.
