On the week beginning Monday 25th September, children in Year 5 participated in Bikeability. On the first day the sun was shining for them and they completed activities on our school playgrounds. The instructors assessed their cycling skills and taught them skills they would need for when they went out on to the road.

The weather for the rest of the week was not quite as kind and the children learned to cycle their bikes in different conditions throughout the week. Miss Allen and the cycling instructors were pleased with Year 5’s enthusiasm and effort. The children learned many new skills that they will be able to use when cycling in the future.

Here are some of the comments made by the children:

“I have enjoyed riding my bike on the road.” Ruben

“I feel more confident riding my bike. It has been fun.” Robbie

“I have enjoyed learning to ride my bike on the road.” Preet

The children all received their ‘Level 2’ badges. Well done, Sycamore.
