This week, Year 4 came together to create a beautiful poppy-themed stained glass window in honour of Remembrance Day. 

Using coloured tissue paper, black card, sticky back plastic and lots of imagination, the children designed vibrant poppy patterns that reflect the importance of remembering those who served and sacrificed our country in wars and conflicts. 

The project was not only a chance to get creative, but also a meaningful way to explore the history and significance of Remembrance Day. We discussed why we wear poppies, what the day represents and how we can show respect and gratitude.

The finished poppies now proudly feature on our classroom windows, glowing beautifully when the sunlight shines through. A perfect opportunity to reflect and a reminder of the power of art to express emotion and remembrance.
