On Tuesday, our school came together in a moment of quiet reflection to mark Remembrance Day.

At 11 o’clock, the entire school gathered in the hall for the two minutes’ silence, surrounded by the beautiful artwork created by each class throughout the week. It was a powerful and moving moment, as we paused to remember those who have served and sacrificed.

The assembly was brought to a close by a poignant remembrance poem that captured the spirit of the day and reminded us all of the importance of honouring those who came before us.

Year 6 proudly displayed their final art project, each pupil wearing a poppy as a mark of respect. Their work was both striking and heartfelt, and it was clear how much thought had gone into every detail.

Throughout the week, every class has been busy creating thoughtful and reflective pieces of art inspired by the themes of remembrance, peace, and hope. From poppy collages to silhouette paintings, the creativity and care shown by our pupils has been truly inspiring. We are incredibly proud of the work they have produced.

In addition to their artwork, Year 6 have also been busy fundraising for the Royal British Legion. Throughout the week, they have been selling poppies and other items to raise money for this important cause. We’d like to say a huge thank you to the children for their efforts, and to our wonderful school community for their generosity and support.

Remembrance Day is a time to reflect, to honour, and to come together. We are proud of how our pupils embraced this with such maturity and compassion.
