Last Friday, Year 5 had an incredible opportunity to step back in time! We welcomed a very special visitor, Michael, the grandfather of one of our pupils, who shared his amazing knowledge of Tudor history and the War of the Roses. He came dressed in role to really bring things to life.

The session was packed with fascinating artefacts. Children became real historians, making educated guesses about what these objects were used for and discussing their significance. There were lots of very interesting and creative guesses! We explored how men prepared for battle during the War of the Roses and even examined replica weapons that would have been used in combat. This hands-on experience really brought lots of engaging discussions and many questions.

The children were captivated throughout and left with a deeper understanding of this dramatic period in British history. A huge thank you to Michael for giving us such a memorable and inspiring afternoon.
