Acorn Class had lots of fun learning about patterns. We started by looking at repeating patterns and talking about what makes a pattern special. The children practiced continuing a pattern, making sure the sequence stayed the same. They were brilliant at spotting when something didn’t look right and noticing mistakes in a pattern.

After that, the children had a go at making their own patterns. Some children created simple AB patterns (like red, blue, red, blue), while others challenged themselves to make an ABC pattern (such as red, blue, green, red, blue, green). It was wonderful to see their creativity and concentration as they explored different colours, shapes, and objects to build their patterns.
