Over the past seven weeks, our Year 1 and Year 2 artists have been busy developing their skills and talents in Art Club with Miss Rowlands, and what an amazing journey it has been!

We began the term by celebrating the beauty of autumn, creating stunning pieces of art using real autumn leaves. From hedgehogs and squirrels to butterflies, the children showed incredible imagination and creativity in their designs.

Next, we marked Anti-Bullying Week in a very special way. Each child designed their own kindness flag, thinking carefully about what makes a good friend and choosing positive messages to decorate their flags. To finish, we paraded our flags proudly around school, even stopping by Mrs O’Donoghue’s office to share our messages of kindness!

Throughout the term, we also explored mark making and patterns, experimenting with different techniques and discovering just how many variations we could create. The children loved seeing their ideas come to life in our pattern grids! 

As the festive season approached, Art Club was full of Christmas cheer. Last week, we got messy with paints as we finger-painted Christmas trees to take home and share with our families. Some of us even mixed colours with our hands! 

Finally, this week we crafted our very own Christmas gonks, carefully cutting, sticking, and decorating to make each one unique.

A huge well done to all our talented artists in Art Club! Miss Rowlands has loved spending Tuesday afternoons with you and is so proud of everything you’ve achieved this term.
