This term in our D.T unit, Year 3 have been busy creating beautiful Christmas stockings! We began by exploring what a Christmas stocking is, what it’s used for, and what they typically look like. We noticed that stockings often have festive designs and bright, cheerful colours. Next, we designed our own stockings. We chose from Christmas trees, stars, snowmen, or gingerbread men for our main design.

Once our plans were complete, it was time to sew! This was a tricky step, and we had to stay very focused to avoid mistakes or getting into knots. Miss Rowlands was so proud of our perseverance and concentration during this part!

After sewing, we decorated our stockings with beads and sequins to make them extra special. Now they’re ready to go home in time for Christmas and hopefully be filled with gifts!
