This half term in JIGSAW, Poplar Class have started exploring our new theme: Dreams and Goals. We started the unit by thinking about the ambitions we have for ourselves, both now and in the future. It was wonderful to hear such a wide range of exciting dreams! 

Inspired by The BFG, we created our own dream jars, each one capturing a special hope or ambition. The children enjoyed sharing their dreams with the class, and we were amazed by the variety of goals in Poplar Class. Among us, we have dreams of earning pen licences, becoming famous singers, rugby players, cheerleaders, astronauts, actors and actresses, as well as travelling to exciting places around the world! 

It was lovely to celebrate each other’s dreams at the start of a new year. The children spoke thoughtfully and confidently, and it was clear how proud they were of their ideas.

As we continue our unit, we will be thinking about how to set achievable goals, the steps we can take to work towards our dreams, and how to respond if we face setbacks or challenges.
