Year 1 had an exciting computing session this week as we explored the Bee‑Bot game. The children have already learned how to program Bee‑Bots using simple instructions, and the game helped them put those skills into action in a playful, hands‑on way.

The class worked in small groups to plan routes, test ideas, and solve problems. They had to think carefully about each step, deciding how many moves their Bee‑Bot needed and which direction it should turn. There were lots of cheers when the Bee‑Bot reached the target and plenty of laughter when it wandered off somewhere unexpected.

The game encouraged brilliant teamwork, communication, and perseverance. It was wonderful to see the children discussing their ideas, fixing mistakes, and celebrating each other’s successes. Activities like this help build early coding skills while keeping learning fun and engaging.
