Year 5 had another fantastic Forest School session, filled with fun, creativity, and hands-on learning! The children were introduced to sticky weed- and quickly became very familiar with it! They played an exciting game where each team had to try and cover the other team’s ‘goalkeeper’ in as much sticky weed as possible. There were lots of laughs, and by the end, some children were so well covered we could hardly see them at all!

After all the fun, the children moved on to a more scientific challenge. Working in groups, they were tasked with creating their own nature filtering systems. Using only natural materials found around them, they had to try and turn dirty water into the cleanest water possible.

This activity sparked lots of creative thinking and teamwork, and linked brilliantly with our science topic on separating materials. It was wonderful to see the children applying their classroom learning in such a practical, outdoor way. A perfect example of indoor and outdoor learning at its finest. Well done, Year 5!
