Year 5 had a fantastic start to their Bikeability training today, successfully completing Level 1 on the playground. The children began by learning how to check that their bikes are road-ready, ensuring brakes, tyres, and overall safety were up to standard.

They also practised one of the most important cycling skills- checking behind them for traffic while maintaining control of their bikes. This is no easy task, but the children showed great focus, determination, and excellent listening skills throughout the session.

These are vital skills to master before moving onto the roads, and we were incredibly proud of how well everyone worked today. We are lucky to be supported by instructors from Solihull Council, who will be working with the children all week to build their confidence and abilities.

Next stop: Level 2 tomorrow—taking their skills onto the streets. Watch this space!
