Year 5 had a brilliant time at Forest School last week, putting their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test by building their own shelters.

Working in groups, the children carefully selected suitable locations, thinking about how to protect themselves from the elements such as wind and rain. They were given just two pieces of material and some bungee ropes. Everything else was down to their creativity, teamwork, and determination!

It was fantastic to see the range of ideas across the groups. Some children got especially imaginative, creating shelters complete with ‘sofas’ and even ‘doorbells’- a true testament to their ingenuity and sense of fun. We were very tempted to test how waterproof their shelters were with a hose, but decided to let them enjoy their creations without a surprise downpour!

A wonderful session filled with creativity, collaboration, and outdoor learning. Well done, Year 5! 🌳
