As part of our minibeast topic, Nursery had another lovely learning experience inspired by the famous artist Henri Matisse and his artwork The Snail.

We began by taking a closer look at real slugs and snails, observing them carefully and noticing their shapes, patterns, and how they move. The children were fascinated to see them up close, asking lots of questions and sharing their ideas.

After our observations, the children took part in a creative activity, making their own versions of Matisse’s The Snail. Using bright colours and different shapes, they explored collage techniques to create beautiful and unique pieces of artwork. It was wonderful to see their imagination and creativity shine!
