Last week, Year 5 had an exciting opportunity to take part in an archery taster session during PE. The session was set up on the field, where the children used bows and rubber-tipped arrows to learn the basic skills of this fantastic sport.

At first, it took a little practise to master the technique, but once they got the hang of it, the children showed they had a great eye for aiming at the targets! It was wonderful to see their confidence grow with each shot as they developed their accuracy and control.

The children thoroughly enjoyed trying something new and learning about a sport that many had never experienced before. It is always lovely to introduce different sporting opportunities, and some of our Year 5 archers were so successful that they may well have found their calling!
