Miss Rowlands has loved welcoming our new Year 3 class back to school! It has been wonderful to see all the children arrive with positive attitudes, big smiles and a readiness to embrace the challenges of Key Stage 2. From the very first day, they have shown us that they are truly KS2 ready!

As we begin a brand-new year together, we have spent time thinking about our goals and aspirations. We discussed the things we would like to achieve during our time in Year 3 and beyond. The children shared some fantastic ambitions, including earning their pen licences, winning medals and trophies through their sports and extra-curricular clubs, learning new skills and improving the talents they already have.

In our JIGSAW lesson, we explored these aspirations further by creating some beautiful self-portraits. We designed one half of each portrait to show our faces, while the other half was filled with words, pictures and symbols representing our hopes, dreams and goals for the future. The results were thoughtful, creative and unique, reflecting the individuality of every child in our class.

We are excited to work together throughout the year to help one another achieve our goals. Most importantly, we look forward to celebrating each other’s successes along the way. What an amazing start to Year 3!
