Our children had a wonderful time taking part in a cupcake-making activity this week! As little bakers, they carefully measured ingredients, poured them into the mixing bowl and took turns stirring everything together. This hands-on experience encouraged the children to work collaboratively, develop their early mathematical skills through measuring and counting, and strengthen their communication and language as they discussed the ingredients and what would happen next.

The activity also supported their physical development as they practised pouring, scooping and mixing using a range of tools. The children showed great patience while waiting for their turn and enjoyed following the baking process from start to finish, helping to build confidence and independence.

Once the cupcakes were baked and cooled, the children had lots of fun decorating them with icing and colourful toppings. They explored their creativity, made individual design choices and were very proud of their finished creations.

Best of all, the children loved tasting the cupcakes they had worked so hard to make! There were lots of smiles and excited conversations as they enjoyed eating their delicious treats together. It was a fantastic activity that combined learning, teamwork, creativity and, of course, a very tasty reward at the end!
