This have term we have been learning about the artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo. We have looked at work created by the Italian artist and how he often used fruit, vegetables, meat and flowers to create portraits. We discussed which fruit and vegetables would be best to represent parts of our face like eyes, ears and a nose. We also thought about how Giuseppe named he pieces of art work after the seasons and which fruit, vegetables and flowers grow in each of the seasons. I was blown away by the fantastic pieces of homework Year 2 have recently completed, it was lovely to see lots of children using really pieces of fruit and vegetables to create portraits. Here is some of the work we have created in class inspired by Giuseppe Arcimboldo.
