Last week the children in Rowan Class celebrated ‘yellow week’. They took part in a yellow food tasting literacy activity where they had to write adjectives to describe the fruit that they had tasted. The children really enjoyed this activity and surprisingly, quite a few of them liked the lemon!  They had to use their sense of taste, smell and touch to describe the yellow fruit.  They came up with adjectives such as ‘tangy’ ‘tasty’ ‘zingy’ ‘sugary’ ‘sour’ ‘slippery’ ‘wet’ and ‘sweet’ to describe their fruit.

The class have also been studying Van Gough and the children created their own still life observational paintings of sunflowers. These were fantastic and will be displayed around school soon.
