Acorn children have had lots of fun learning all about the colour orange and pumpkins. We began by learning about how pumpkins grow from a seed and we watched a video of one growing all the way from a seed to a pumpkin. We looked at the real pumpkins, touched them and smelt them.

The children became scientists and they had to figure out a way to save the dinosaurs egg from the water – ‘by putting stones in the water, it made the water go up and the dinosaur could reach her egg.’ said Alexis.

The children have sorted Autumn objects in many ways, touching and noticing things that are different, similar and things that are the same.

We have enjoyed looking at books and books about Autumn.

We have made pumpkins using model magic and then painted them to look like a pumpkin.
