In Year 4, we have been working hard on our Times Tables whilst being physically active. We played Times Table Tadpoles out on the playground. We all had a different number and we had to jog, skip or hop around the playground to find a partner, with our partner we had to multiply the numbers together, starting with A’s number and then repeat, starting with B’s number. We noticed that our answers remained the same! We have learnt this is because multiplication is commutative. This is when 2 numbers can be added or multiplied and the same answer will be found no matter what order they are in.
