On Monday 4th December, we started the twelve days of fitmas challenge. Every day we complete a physical activity in class with Rockin’ Reindeer helping out, you might spot him in some of our photos.

The activities encourage physical activity throughout the school day which also helps our mental wellbeing. We record all of our activities on a checklist displayed on our classroom door. So far we have completed Santa dash, Christmas jumper, reindeer run and pass the pudding. It is recommended that we do 60 minutes of physical activity each day, 30 minutes of which is completed in school. We have thoroughly enjoy the start of the twelve days of fitmas challenge and are looking forward to completing the rest of our daily activities throughout December.

Why is it important that we exercise everyday? What are the benefits of regular exercise?

Zac – “It is really fun to do and we are also keeping fit and healthy doing the activities.”

Alanna – “It has our brains have a break as well as our bodies keeping fit.”

Ilsaf – “I love that all the challenges have a fun name to do with Christmas because it makes me excited for Christmas. It’s good that we keep fit and look after ourselves everyday.”
