Children in EYFS have been busy making their own Christingles this week. We discussed the meaning behind a Christingle and why people make them at Christmas time. We know that the orange represents the world that God created. We then put red ribbon around the orange to remind us that Jesus died. We also put four cocktail sticks in our orange that show the our seasons. These are Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. We then added some sweeties or dried fruit to the cocktail sticks to remind us of God’s creations. The candle reminds us of Jesus, the light of the world.

Have a go at making your own Christingle over Christmas!
