During the last week of the Autumn term, Year 2 made a wrap or sandwich in our D.T lessons which was part of our topic ‘A balanced diet.’ We had spent several lessons naming the main food groups and identifying food that belong to each group, planning a three-course meal that included food from all the food groups and planning our own wrap or sandwich.

Our aim was to include as many of the different food groups in our meal as possible. We the spent the morning creating our design and had to make sure it met our design brief. We developed lots of skills like buttering our bread, grating cheese and cutting our sandwich in half. Our delicious creations were taken home and lots of the Year 2 pupils shared they enjoyed eating them with family members.
