Acorn children have been learning about traditional tales and we have read Goldilocks and the three bears. The children enjoyed joining in with the repeated phrases and even made up their own stories. They then had a go at mark making and writing about the story. They thought about the initial sounds they could hear and had a go at matching it to a grapheme to write. The children thought carefully about what happened in the story and what they wanted their sentence to be. To complete their writing they painted a bear which was cut out and stuck onto their paper.

How did little bear feel when he saw his chair was broken? How did Goldilocks feel when she woke up to the bears all looking at her? How would you feel if someone ate all your porridge?
