In our unit, ‘Multiplication and Division’, we have started looking at divisions involving remainders! We have learnt that we have remainders when we can no longer make another equal group. We worked as partners using lolly pop sticks to complete a set of sentence stems, such as:

We made triangles, squares and even pentagons to investigate how many remainders we would be left with in a division. We spotted that we can never have a remainder that is greater than the number we are dividing by and that we still need to make sure that our groups are equal.
