Last week, West Midlands Fire Service came into school to deliver an exciting talk to our Year 4 children. The fire fighters discussed importance of fire safety, having an evacuation plan and knowing the dangers and hazards within the home.

The children learnt about fire safety procedures including Stop, Drop and Roll.

The children also learnt that in the case of a fire, get out and stay out. Never return to a building that is on fire and leave it to firefighters to rescue anyone still inside.

The firefighters explained all about the protective, flame resistant clothing they wear to help them fight fires and to stay safe. Austin was even lucky enough to try on all the protective gear!
