Year 4 have been working hard on their Times Tables as we are trying to build our fluency and speed with all of our tables up to 12×12.

We had a carousel of activities which we used to apply our learning and put our times table knowledge to the test, including Bingo, Multiplication Doughnuts, a timed multiplication test,  Multiplication dice game, Hit the Button and also the chance to earn some points on Times Table Rockstars (TTR).

Here are some photographs of the children playing Multiplication Doughnuts. Each group was split into two teams and the children had to race each other to complete their doughnut by answering all of the calculations around the number correctly. This game was a big hit!

We also used the iPad to log onto TTR to practise our tables, complete a soundcheck and earn some points for Elm Class!

Then, we played Bingo! One person from each group was responsible for calling out the numbers whilst the other children had to see if that number was a product of one of their calculations on their Bingo sheets. Of course, the children had to shout BINGO! once all their numbers had been called.

The children also loved playing the Multiplication Dice Game where they had to roll two dice and multiply the numbers that they rolled together to get the product. They then had to shade that number on their grids. It was a competition who could shade the most numbers in 5 minutes!

Miss Beacom is so proud of all of the children’s hard work with their Times Tables, BUT do not give up Year 4 and keep practising!!
