On Thursday 7th March, we celebrated World Book Day! The children dressed up as a character from their favourite books and they looked fantastic! Mrs Turner was astounded by some of the children’s choices and had great fun guessing the books and characters the children had chosen.

We began by creating our favourite book covers on a 2p coin. These coins will be put with all of the other KS2 children’s coins to create an amazing display. I wonder if you can spot any book titles that you recognise.

As our second World Book Day activity, we had to design a match box diorama. The children designed the front of their matchbox as their favourite book cover then created a setting from the story on the inside of it. The children enjoyed discussing their favourite books during this activity.

We then did a Harry Potter inspired digital ‘Escape the Room’ activity where we had to crack the code to escape the digital prison using our knowledge. We had to solve the digital clues and puzzles  and reveal the keypad code needed to open the door.

We hope you enjoyed World Book Day as much as we did!
