On Thursday 7th March, the whole school celebrated World Book Day. We celebrate this day to encourage everyone to find the joy in reading! Did you know that World Book Day is celebrated in over 100 countries around the world and was first celebrated in the United Kingdom in 1997? Maple class enjoyed dressing up as our favourite characters. Can you guess who we are from the pictures?

Children created peg characters based on their favourite book characters and spent time drawing the book cover for their favourite book. We also stuck paper circles over 2p coins and recreating our favourite book covers in miniature. Miss Williams will be using these miniature front covers to create a display in school. Well done to Layla who won the golden ticket on World Book Day and will be enjoying afternoon tea with Miss Williams and other pupils next week.
