In our Science lessons this half term, we have been learning all about light. We can discuss what is a source of light is and give examples.

Sienna – ‘The TV is a source of light because of the screen.’

Zac – ‘Torches and Fireworks are a source of light because you can see them in the dark.’

Cici – ‘The sun is a source of light because when it out it is day time.’

We could also discuss which things are not sources of light, such as the moon, mirrors and windows.

Bobby – ‘The moon is not a source of light because it reflects light instead of making it.’

We then all had a go at exploring how a mirror reflects things! We know that mirrors make things look reversed. We all began writing messages and shared them with our friends, using mirrors to decode them! This was quite tricky because we had to write the sentence and the individual letters back to front! Lots of us have taken our messages home so that we can test our adults to see if they can read our mirror messages!
