Acorn children enjoyed a bug hunt as part of our science this week. We looked at pictures of bugs and spoke about them, we learnt what they are called, spoke about the colour of them, looked to see if they have wings, we counted how many legs and we questioned where we would find them before heading to our lovely outdoor area. The children got their wellies on, picked up magnifying glasses and binoculars and set out on a mission. The children turned into very good scientists and thought carefully about where the bugs might be hiding, they overturned logs and tyres and were very surprised to see so many different bugs. We made sure we treated them carefully and placed their homes back as they were found.
