Cedars pupils have been studying Changing States of Matter as their Science Topic.

We learnt about the properties of Solids, Liquids and Gases including that some solids, such as sand and rice, have properties similar to liquids, you are able to pour them into a container and they take on the shape of the container they are poured into. We also compared the particle arrangements of solids, liquids and gases.

The Cedars pupils also learnt about heating, boiling, melting and freezing. We thought of examples where ‘matter’ undergoes these processes to change state. Following on from this, we learnt about the Water Cycle and how Evaporation, Condensation and Precipitation play an important role in this never-ending cycle.
