Yesterday, Year 4 enjoyed their first Cricket Coaching session of the Summer term.

We began by warming up and practising our fielding skills. We discussed the importance of being active fielders and how integral fielders are in Cricket. We also discussed that the quickest way for the ball to travel is by throwing it. The coach helped us to consider non-verbal communication strategies to use when playing Cricket and also encouraged us to put our hands together to create a larger surface area making it easier to catch the ball.

We then played our first ever game of continuous Cricket where we familiarised ourselves with the rules and routines. Everybody had a go at batting and fielding. We had some superb hits and some fantastic fielding skills!

We are looking forward to continuing to grow and develop as Cricketers in our upcoming sessions. Hopefully the weather will improve too! 🌞🏏
