This week, Year 4 have been working hard to continue to practise their times tables. We enjoyed a carousel of fun and exciting games to help us build our fluency and speed ahead the MTC in June.

One of the activities was BINGO! Mrs Morgan was the BINGO Caller who announced a multiplication sum to the children. The children then had to work out if the answer corresponded to one of their multiplication questions on their card.

Well done to our bingo winners!

Another activity was Multiplication Bowling. This was a firm favourite by the children. The children had to answer the multiplication questions as quickly and accurately as possible, answering correctly and promptly meant that it was much easier to aim the bowling ball at the pins.

We then played the Multiplication Dice Game. The children had to roll their dice twice to get two different numbers. They then needed to write down those numbers in the empty boxes and then proceed to multiply them as quickly as they could.

We also did a Treasure Hunt activity. The children had to work out the times tables calculations on their sheets, write the number answer onto the sheet and then search for letters around the classroom to match the letters to numbers from their calculations.

We finished our lesson with a throwing and catching game with a multiplication focus. The game specifically focussed on the x8 times tables. Miss Beacom threw a giant foam dice to different children around the classroom in a random order. The children had to catch the dice and then multiply the number their right hand thumb landed closest too by 8. We chose the number 8 as this weeks times table focus is the 8 times tables!

Miss Beacom is really proud of all the children especially those who have been practising and working hard on their tables at home!
